Viviana Almas (born Maryland, USA; raised in Lithuania; based in London) creates work that investigates memories of place and their connection to remnants, linking them to the present tense. Her practice spans photography, filmmaking, printmaking, and sculpture, often blurring distinctions between fiction and documentary.

Primarily working with 16mm and Super 8 film, Almas is involved in every stage of filmaking process—shooting, developing, editing, and directing. She experiments with alternative development methods, using natural materials like apples and acorns.

In her printmaking, Almas transforms photographs into textured objects through photo etching, recontextualizing imagery into physical forms that are often presented in installation settings.

Her work has been showcased internationally at venues such as JB Blunk Space in San Francisco, Truman Brewery in London, Anthology Film Archives in New York, and Girulių Biblioteka in Lithuania. She was nominated for the Nida Off Photography Contest and has received awards including the South West Graduate Prize 2024, the BBA One Shot Award, and the Canada International Film Festival Award.
